US Treasury yields ease, altering Bitcoin pricing dynamics
During this round of BTC's rally, the most critical factor to watch may not be the crypto industry, but rather long-term U.S. Treasury bonds. On August 18, the yield on the 30-year U.S. Treasury note briefly rose to 5.33%, reaching its highest level since 2007. The following day, the U.S. Treasury Department announced it would double the size of certain long-term Treasury buyback operations, increasing them from $2 billion per operation to at least $4 billion, covering Treasury securities with maturities ranging from 10 to 30 years. Following the announcement, the yield on the 30-year U.S. Treasury note fell by nearly 10 basis points, the U.S. dollar weakened, while gold and global risk assets strengthened in tandem.
