In the first half of the year, the company repurchased a total of approximately $47.6 billion, with the vast majority occurring in the second quarter. Additionally, the company’s net purchases of equities in the second quarter amounted to approximately $19.8 billion, including about $10 billion spent to acquire Alphabet common stock, which propelled Google into Berkshire’s top five holdings.
