According to the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, Apple (AAPL.O) is negotiating new cooperation agreements with publishers, planning to use their content to provide the latest news and information, with the aim of enhancing the performance of its AI voice assistant, Siri. Sources revealed that Apple has been engaging with publishers in recent months. The proposed multi-year agreements would grant Apple usage rights to relevant content, thereby boosting Siri’s capabilities, which are expected to launch later this year. Some sources indicated that Apple has proposed a variable payment scheme, under which partner publishers would be compensated based on content usage. They also disclosed that Apple has discussed a budget potentially reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.
