AMD plans to raise up to $5 billion by issuing investment-grade bonds that could become the largest in the company’s history, joining a wave of corporate debt issuance driven by the artificial intelligence boom. According to people familiar with the matter, the final size of the offering has not yet been determined and may be adjusted based on market demand. Another source stated that AMD plans to issue bonds in four tranches, with maturities ranging from three to ten years. The initial price guidance for the 10-year bonds is set at 115 basis points above the yield on U.S. Treasury securities. In its filing, AMD indicated that the proceeds from the bond issuance will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include debt repayment. AMD has $875 million in bonds maturing next month. Barclays, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo are managing the bond issuance. (Bloomberg)
