Bank of America: The storage industry is increasingly resembling 'chip foundry,' with reduced cyclicality and high profit margins.
The latest report from Bank of America Securities points out that the global memory industry is undergoing a "chip foundry" transformation, characterized by reduced cyclicality, stabilized pricing, and continuously improving profit margins. The recent significant rise in DRAM/NAND spot prices, along with Taiwan Semiconductor's positive earnings guidance, further confirms the robust health of the supply chain, particularly strengthening SK Hynix’s strategic position as a core HBM supplier. Despite market divergence on valuation and future supply-demand dynamics, structural changes in the industry have propelled the sector into a "super cycle" phase marked by technology leadership and high profitability.
