According to regulatory filings, SK Hynix recognized a derivative‑related loss of KRW 3.98 trillion in the first half of 2026, stemming from exchangeable bonds issued in April 2023. This loss arose from the exercise of conversion rights by the bondholders and from the appreciation in the market price of SK Hynix's listed shares in South Korea. The company stated that this accounting loss will not result in any actual cash outflows, and that gains on the disposal of treasury shares recognized upon the conversion of the exchangeable bonds into equity have largely offset the related loss.
