At the Goldman Sachs Technology Conference, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang identified cybersecurity as the next major use case for AI, noting that AI-driven automation of computer programming is fundamentally altering the pace of cyber offense and defense. Speaking to attendees at the conference in San Francisco on Thursday, Huang stated that cybersecurity is likely to become the next significant application for AI. He explained that AI models are disrupting the cybersecurity industry by automating coding tasks, as the speed at which code vulnerabilities are exploited and require remediation has accelerated dramatically. Last month, NVIDIA provided strong long-term sales forecasts, reinforcing Wall Street's confidence in AI data centers.

According to reports, Microsoft’s planned data center capacity for 2032 includes both owned and leased facilities but excludes computing power rented from “new cloud” providers such as CoreWeave. Currently, out of Microsoft’s approximately 12 GW of data center capacity, only about 2 GW is dedicated to AI chips; by 2032, AI-specific computing power is expected to account for roughly one-third of the total capacity.
