Trump: The US and India have reached a trade agreement, which will lower Indian tariffs. Modi has agreed to halt the purchase of Russian oil.
Trump stated that the U.S. 'reciprocal tariff' on India will be reduced from 25% to 18%, and India will accordingly lower its tariffs and non-tariff barriers on American goods until they reach zero. India also committed to purchasing more than $500 billion worth of U.S. energy products and may buy Venezuelan oil. Media reports indicated that Indian officials confirmed plans to purchase $500 billion in U.S. goods over the next five years, and the U.S. will revoke the 25% tariff on India.
