CK Hutchison Holdings (00001.HK) takes further legal action regarding the Panamanian government's forced takeover of the container terminal.
CK Hutchison Holdings (00001.HK) announced that it has further strengthened its legal response measures regarding the illegal takeover by the Republic of Panama of the container terminal operations at Panama Ports Company. Panama Ports Company is a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings. CK Hutchison previously issued a dispute notice to the Panamanian government under an applicable investment protection treaty that provides for international arbitration mechanisms. CK Hutchison has now submitted supplementary documents related to the dispute notice, clearly stating that the Panamanian government continues to act unilaterally, refusing communication, interrupting negotiations, and occupying two container terminals with a lack of transparency while forcibly taking over the assets of Panama Ports Company.
