Gelonghui, March 19 | The three major indices of A-shares collectively fell today, with the Shanghai Composite Index once dropping below the 4,000-point mark. By the close of trading, the Shanghai Composite Index had fallen by 1.39% to 4,006 points, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped by 2.02%, and the ChiNext Index declined by 1.1%. The total market turnover reached 2.13 trillion yuan, an increase of 66.2 billion yuan compared to the previous trading day, with nearly 5,000 stocks falling. In terms of sector performance, precious metals, non-ferrous metals, and minor metals sectors plummeted, with stocks such as Xingye Yinxin dropping more than 8%. The titanium dioxide sector weakened, led by Jinpu Titanium Industry. Lithium mining concepts performed poorly, with Weiling Shares hitting the price limit for declines. Chemicals and chemical fiber stocks trended downward, with Qingshuiyuan plunging over 8%. Fiberglass and compound fertilizer sectors also showed weakness.
