Pearl River Shipping Enterprises (Holdings) Co., Ltd. ("Pearl River Shipping") is a Hong Kong–listed company controlled by Pearl River Shipping Enterprises (Group) Co., Ltd. ("Pearl River Group"), which in turn is part of Guangdong Provincial Shipping Group Co., Ltd. ("Guangdong Provincial Shipping Group"). Guangdong Provincial Shipping Group is one of the large state-owned enterprise groups under the Guangdong Provincial Government and also ranks among the province's seven leading logistics enterprises. In October 2006, it was recognized as the fourth nationwide 5A–rated, comprehensive service–oriented logistics enterprise with shipping operations at its core. Pearl River Group was officially established on October 18, 1962. Today, Pearl River Group operates shipping and logistics services between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta, high-speed water passenger transport, as well as passenger vessel trading and repair.
