About BANK OF CHINA Company

The Bank of China is the longest‑operating bank in China. Officially established in February 1912, it has successively performed the functions of a central bank, an international exchange bank, and a specialized international trade bank. After 1949, it served for many years as the state's specialized bank for foreign exchange and foreign trade, centrally managing the nation's foreign exchange reserves and conducting international trade settlement, remittances from overseas Chinese, and other non‑trade foreign‑exchange operations. In 1994, it was reorganized into a wholly state‑owned commercial bank, providing a full range of financial services and evolving into a large commercial bank that handles both domestic and foreign currencies, offers a comprehensive array of products, and boasts strong financial strength. In 2006, it became the first domestic bank to list simultaneously on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange, achieving an "A+H" dual listing. The bank's financial services encompass corporate banking, personal banking, treasury services, investment banking, insurance, and other business lines. Corporate honors include: the Bank of China received two consecutive "A" ratings in the State Administration of Foreign Exchange's annual performance assessments; it was awarded the Global Finance "ESG‑Linked Loan Leadership Award," along with four other prestigious accolades; it also earned the Global Trade Finance "Best Trade Finance Bank in the Asia‑Pacific Region" award; it secured an "A" rating in the SAIF's annual assessment; and it was recognized with two major awards—the "Outstanding Competitive Retail Banking" and the "Outstanding Competitive Mobile Banking" awards. Additionally, it was honored as the "China Star Best Green Bond Bank," the "Asia‑Pacific Best Green Bond Bank," the "China Private Bank—Best State‑Owned Bank," the "China Private Bank—Best Impact Investing Bank," the "Asia‑Pacific Best RMB Clearing Bank," the "Tianji Award for Outstanding M&A Financing," and the "Golden Bull Award for Banking Wealth Management Services." As of the end of 2025, the bank operated 533 overseas branches spanning 64 countries and regions worldwide, including 45 countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, with a comprehensive presence at key strategic locations around the globe.
