Express News | MIIT: Second Inter-Administrative Coordination Meeting on Satellite Networks Between China and Norway Successfully Held

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Radio Administration Bureau of the MIIT and the Norwegian Communications Authority held the second inter-administrative coordination meeting on satellite networks in Oslo, Norway, from September 21 to 23. Under the framework of the International Telecommunication Union's Radio Regulations, both parties conducted negotiations on more than 30 issues concerning multiple high- and low-orbit satellite systems. These discussions covered various services, including fixed-satellite and mobile-satellite services, and spanned multiple frequency bands such as L, S, C, X, Ku, Ka, and Q/V. The two sides engaged in extensive exchanges of views, reached consensus on multiple items, and jointly signed the minutes of the meeting. The successful holding of this meeting promoted the compatibility and shared use of frequencies and orbits between the satellite systems of the two countries, helped accelerate the international coordination process for China's satellite network frequencies, and advanced the development of China's aerospace engineering projects. The Chinese delegation consisted of representatives from the Radio Administration Bureau of the MIIT, the State Radio Spectrum Management Center, the Beijing Institute of Tracking and Telecommunications Technology, China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd., China Satcom Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yuanshen Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., and Tsinghua University. The Norwegian delegation included representatives from the Norwegian Communications Authority, Space Norway, and SpaceX Norway.
