Lyon: Alibaba Cloud is in a phase of exceptionally high growth; reiterates 'outperform' rating.
Lyon published a research report stating that Alibaba-W (09988.HK) is expected to deliver solid results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (ended June 2026). The firm forecasts the group’s total revenue to increase by 7.8% year-over-year to RMB 267 billion (hereinafter the same), primarily driven by over 40% year-over-year growth in Alibaba Cloud and quick commerce businesses. The report noted that while Taobao-Tmall Group faces pressure from weak domestic consumption, Alibaba’s overall e-commerce segment is expected to maintain its quarterly profitability, supported by faster-than-expected narrowing losses in its quick commerce operations.
