US WTI crude oil futures closed down 0.9% on Friday and rose 3.2% this week
In the early morning of the 18th Beijing time, U.S. crude oil futures prices fell on Friday, falling from their highest level since the end of July. Analysts believe profit take-back was the main reason for Friday's fall in gold futures. Marshall Steeves, an energy market analyst at IHS Markit, believes, “The sale of U.S. crude oil futures on Friday is mainly due to profit recovery after the rise earlier this week.” He said crude oil futures prices soared after the US Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday that US crude oil inventories fell again last week. Furthermore, affected by tropical storm Nicholas and hurricane Ida, the United States

Transair, the air cargo company that forced the landing of Boeing Co's plane in Hawaii, was grounded.
The grounded decision had nothing to do with the investigation into the forced landing of a Boeing 737 on July 2. On July 2, local time, a Boeing Co cargo plane of Transair cargo Airlines failed its engine and made a forced landing in the waters of Hawaii, seriously injuring two pilots. The Boeing 737-200 plane flew from Honolulu, the capital of Oahu, Hawaii, to Maui in the same state in the early morning. The FAA said the pilot reported engine failure and tried to fly back to Honolulu before making a forced landing at sea. Two pilots were rescued by the Coast Guard. Investigators are concerned about the safety of the company before the accident

Sources say Shell is considering selling US shale oil and gas assets worth more than $10 billion
Royal Dutch Shell is considering selling its stake in the largest oil field in the US, according to people familiar with the matter, marking a critical moment in Shell's transition from fossil fuels as it faces increasing pressure to cut carbon emissions. The sale is likely to be some or all of Shell's business in Permian basins in the United States. The business accounted for about 6 per cent of Shell's total oil and gas production last year. These assets could be worth more than $10 billion. Shell declined to comment on the news. Sources said there was no guarantee that Shell would eventually reach an agreement to sell the assets. A Dutch court last month ordered Shell to reduce greenhouse gases by 2030.
