A former employee of Amazon.Com Inc warehouse recently took the company to court because she suffered from irritable bowel syndrome and often went to the toilet during office hours, and the company fired her in retaliation. The employee, Maria Iris Janet Olivero (Maria Iris Jennitte Olivero), filed a lawsuit in New Jersey Superior Court in June, demanding Amazon.Com Inc pay damages. Earlier this month, Amazon.Com Inc responded by trying to escalate the case to a federal court. Olivero said in the indictment that she told a manager last November that she had irritable bowel syndrome.
