California Motor Vehicle Administration Investigates Cruise Driverless Taxi San Francisco Crash
GLONGHUI, August 19 | The California Department of Motor Vehicles says Cruise has agreed to reduce the RoboTaxi (driverless taxi) fleet it operates by 50% until the agency has completed an investigation into the recent incident involving Cruise vehicles in San Francisco. The DMV said in an email statement, “Cruise will operate no more than 50 driverless vehicles during the day and no more than 150 driverless vehicles at night.” A Cruise driverless taxi collided with a fire engine in San Francisco later this Thursday.
