Zhitong Finance learned that Sea (SE.US) reported first-quarter earnings that exceeded analysts' expectations, indicating that the Southeast Asian e-commerce leader is trying to cope with intense competition from companies such as TikTok. The Singapore-based internet company announced an adjusted EBITDA of US$401 million. Although down 21% from the same period last year, it still far exceeded analysts' average expectations of US$222 million. Sales also beat expectations, rising 22.7% year over year to $3.73 billion; net loss of $23.7 million fell short of analysts' expectations.
