Morgan Stanley lowers Tencent Music (TME.US) target price to $10.50, maintains 'in line with the market' rating.
Morgan Stanley released a report, raising its subscription revenue forecasts for Tencent Music (01698.HK) by 11% to 16% for the years 2026 to 2028 to incorporate revenue contributions from Himalaya starting in the next quarter, partially offset by downward revisions to advertising and social entertainment revenue due to competition from Qishui Music. The firm also raised its gross margin forecast by 1.5 to 1.8 percentage points, reflecting Himalaya’s higher gross margins. Morgan Stanley lowered its EPS estimates for Tencent Music for 2026–2028 by 4.2%, 3.8%, and 5.8%, respectively, primarily reflecting dilution from new shares issued in connection with the acquisition. However, benefits from the acquisition are being offset by weakening core business performance.
