Credit Suisse raises its S & P 500 target to 4300 as the economy recovers
Jonathan Golub, a strategist at Credit Suisse, raised its target for the S & P to 4300 in 2021 from 4200 because of the hottest GDP growth in 35 years. Golub stressed the reopening of the economy after the epidemic and rich government stimulus, and called the Fed's policy "super loose." Golub said faster GDP growth would lead to higher revenues, while higher interest rates would help the financial sector, plus copper and oil prices would be a boon for the industrial, energy and materials sectors. The Credit Suisse strategist said that in view of the fact that 90% of the fourth-quarter results have been released, the results are better than expected.
