Novo Nordisk A/S CEO Mike Doustdar stated that the company plans to soon seek approval from Chinese regulators for its weight-loss pill Wegovy, aiming to catch up with Eli Lilly and Co (LLY.US) in the Chinese market. Doustdar said the company will submit data on oral Wegovy to regulators within a few months to seek approval, and expects competition from generic manufacturers to emerge starting in the second quarter of next year.
